Student Testimonials

Kristin Sturtevant, M.S. student

"I chose to study at UB because of the great opportunities offered here, as well as the great group of students and faculty."

"While receiving my B.S. at UB, I had the opportunity to help with some geophysics work in Alaska. Of course I jumped on the offer, who wouldn't want to spend a summer on a glacier in Alaska? My undergraduate project sparked my interest in working in geophysics as a grad student. I am currently working on a project in the mountains in Central Nevada that involves using seismic reflection techniques, ground penetrating radar and hydrology to analyze ecosystem management. I have also enjoyed being a part of the field camp here at UB; it is one of the most amazing experiences of my career."
