- Completed application.
- The Application Fee of $75.00. "Please note that the $75 application fee
is non-refundable." (check or money order, made payable to the University
at Buffalo or paid electronically).
- Official Transcripts sent directly from every institution previously attended (including all undergraduate, summer, graduate, matriculated or not, whether or not a degree was conferred, and whether or not credit is claimed for the work). Transcripts received from the applicant or those not bearing an official seal of the institution will not be accepted. UB students do not need to request a UB transcript; the department is able to obtain a copy of grades completed here at UB
- Official GRE scores sent directly to the geology department from the testing
agency. (The school code is 2925 and the department code is 504.)
- Two (2) references from former or present professors whom you believe know
your capabilities for graduate work, using the required forms. Click

For fullest consideration of all scholarships and financial support (including
Teaching Assistantships and Research Assistantships) within the Department
of Geology, we strongly encourage students to submit all application materials
by February 1st for the fall semester and October 1st for the spring semester.
We will begin reviewing applications on those dates.
- No offer of admission will be made until all supporting documents have been
received.
- Credentials received in support of this application are not returnable to
the applicant.
