My MS thesis research looks at both spatial and temporal variation in a
dysoxic biofacies within the Middle Devonian Appalachian Basin.  I am
interested in identifying patterns in paleocommunity parameters based on
species relative abundance that can be correlated with environmental
stress gradients such as sedimentation rate, water depth, and oxygen
levels.  Broader implications include further understanding of
paleocommunity dynamics in association with evolutionary mode and tempo
on both macro- and microscales.
