Group Photo With M.A., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees, the Department of Geology at UB offers a comprehensive graduate program designed for those with either academic or professional aspirations. One of the fastest growing geology departments in the nation, we present a vigorous sequence of courses specifically designed to play on the strengths of our department, ensuring that graduate students leave with an integrated understanding of geology. In addition to our graduate programs, the department offers two Bachelor degrees: Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science.

Undergraduate enrollment in the department has doubled since 1990, and faculty research has attracted students from all over the world, including Germany, India, China, France, Italy, Russia, as well as an increased number of local students. Our faculty are distinguished in their focus areas, and on average author more than four publications each per year in prominent peer-reviewed journals.
